When is too soon for cultural diplomacy?

An Arab and a Jew will represent Israel in the Eurovision song contest, stirring controversy in Israel. Is this an example of cultural diplomacy too soon? Achinoam Nini, the Jewish woman, says about her collaboration with Israeli Arab Mira Awad, "The beauty is that we offer an example of what coexistence could look like." What do you think?
