Interview published in Tunisian music journal

My interview with contemporary Iranian composer Behzad Ranjbaran was published in the current issue of Musicalement votre, the newsletter of the Association des Supporteurs de la Creation Musicale, which hosted me during MFTP's Project I in Tunisia.

The interview, which will be published in the April issue of the Juilliard Journal, was conducted to promote the New York premiere of Mr. Ranjbaran's Violin Concerto. As a result of winning the Juilliard concerto competition, I will play this work with the Juilliard Orchestra led by Gerard Schwarz in Alice Tully Hall on Monday, April 10, at 8 p.m. Free tickets are available at the Juilliard box office beginning March 27.

Because the work represents a bridge between Iranian and Western cultures, I believe that it stands within the scope of MFTP's interests. I hope you will all be able to attend!

Massive updating

I've been behind in keeping the information for MFTP's upcoming projects current. No longer!

Please check out the concept papers for Project II (Philippines) and Project III Zimbabwe. They have been greatly revised to reflect recent developments, such as new participants in Project III (see previous post), and the possibility of a collaboration with the Cartwheel Foundation in Mindanao, Philippines (Project II).

Because of the increased amount of detail available about Project II, I have posted a tentative itinerary here.
